PULSIQ
Future Ink is a body-interface system that reimagines tattoos as dynamic, emotional, and interactive media. The project integrates a community-based tattoo platform, AI-generated tattoo creation, AR body visualization, and a bio-responsive e-ink wearable that changes with the user’s physical and emotional data. It explores how technology can extend the meaning of tattoos—from fixed symbols on skin to living, adaptive interfaces for expression, comfort, and identity.
Inspiration
In New York—a city full of surprises and diversity—I discovered the unique appeal of becoming a tattoo artist. This path allows me to express my creativity, but more importantly, to listen to people’s stories and translate them into designs on their skin. Each design carries memories and emotions, allowing me to connect deeply with people through their narratives.
At the same time, I noticed many inefficiencies in the current tattoo experience. This inspired me to combine technology and user experience design to explore new possibilities for more personalized and thoughtful tattoo journeys.
